SVG to BMP Converter

Some legacy Windows software, microcontroller display libraries and industrial devices only accept uncompressed BMP. Render your SVG to exactly the pixel size they need.

How to use the SVG to BMP tool

  1. Drop or paste an SVG.

  2. Set the exact pixel width; tick Transparent for 32-bit BMP with alpha, or leave it off for 24-bit with a background colour.

  3. Download the .bmp.

24-bit or 32-bit

A 24-bit BMP has no transparency and is the most widely supported. A 32-bit BMP (BITMAPV4 header) stores an alpha channel, which modern Windows apps and many display libraries read, but some older tools ignore. If unsure, use 24-bit with the background colour your device shows.

Questions

Why is my BMP so large?

BMP is uncompressed: every pixel takes 3 or 4 bytes. A 1000×1000 image is about 3–4 MB.

Can I set an exact size like 128×64?

Set the width; the height follows the SVG aspect ratio. For an exact height too, give the SVG a matching viewBox first.

Is anything uploaded?

No, the BMP is written in your browser.
