SVG to TIFF Converter

Print shops and publishers often ask for TIFF at 300 DPI. Enter the print size and DPI and SVGShift renders exactly that many pixels and records the DPI in the file.

How to use the SVG to TIFF tool

  1. Drop or paste an SVG.

  2. Switch to Print size, enter the width in inches or cm, and pick 300 or 600 DPI.

  3. Download the uncompressed RGBA .tiff.

Pixels, inches and DPI

A print at 300 DPI needs 300 pixels for every inch. A 4-inch-wide logo is therefore 1200 px wide. The DPI value stored in the TIFF tells layout software like InDesign or Word what physical size to place it at.

Colour

The TIFF is RGB with an alpha channel. If your printer needs CMYK, convert in the print software or ask the shop; browsers cannot produce CMYK.

Questions

Is the TIFF compressed?

No, it is uncompressed for maximum compatibility, so files are large (4 bytes per pixel).

Should I send SVG or TIFF to a printer?

If they accept vector files, a PDF or EPS keeps edges sharp at any size. Use TIFF when they explicitly request a raster file.

Is anything uploaded?

No, the TIFF is created in your browser.
