How to use the SVG to PNG tool

  1. Drop or paste an SVG.

  2. Set the output width (or tap 1×, 2×, 4×) and choose transparent or a background colour.

  3. Download the PNG.

Pick the right size before you export

An SVG has no fixed resolution, so the PNG is drawn fresh at whatever size you ask for. For app icons and retina screens export at 2× or 3× the size it will be displayed at. For print, multiply inches by 300: a 2-inch logo needs a 600 px wide PNG.

Why some SVGs render differently

Browsers draw SVG inside an <img> context without access to external files. If your SVG links to a web font, an external image or a CSS file, those parts will be missing. Convert text to outlines in your design tool, or embed images as data URIs, before exporting.

Questions

How do I convert SVG to PNG?

Drop the SVG on this page (or paste its code), set the width or a print size, keep Transparent background ticked, and press Convert. The PNG downloads immediately. On Windows you can also open the SVG in a browser and take a screenshot, but that caps the size at your screen resolution.

How do I make a high-resolution PNG from an SVG?

Type a larger width (up to 8192 px) or switch to Print size and enter inches and 300 DPI. Because SVG is vector, the PNG is drawn fresh at that size and stays sharp. The DPI is also written into the PNG so print software sizes it correctly.

Can I convert many SVGs to PNG at once?

Yes. Tick several scales (1×, 2×, 3×, 4×) to get a ZIP of one file, or use the batch converter to turn up to 100 SVGs into PNGs in one ZIP.

Does SVG to PNG keep transparency?

Yes. PNG supports an alpha channel, so anything transparent in the SVG stays transparent unless you choose a background colour.

What is the maximum size?

Browsers cap canvas size; SVGShift allows up to 8192 px on the longest side, which covers print posters at 300 dpi up to about 27 inches.

Is it private?

Yes. The SVG is rendered on a canvas in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
